The trumpeter vine is almost finished blooming and the Goldfinchs are just getting started on the sunflowers in the garden. We have volunteer sunflowers from the bird feeder which are close to the garden. It seems everything is running as planned. All except the shoulder and getting it resolved. I saw the surgeon yesterday and he said it looked like I had a massive tear. He said that probably he would have to scope it to tell whether or not he could fix it. I am to have an arthrogram on August 10th and will see the doctor again on August 27th. I asked why so long and the nurse said he would be out of the office. I asked her if he would be playing golf while I couldn't. She replied probably. I didn't want to hear that it possibly couldn't be fixed. We are hoping it will be taken care of. Cindy is now moved into Kathleen and Jim's house in Wenatchee. Kathleen, Jim and Zmo will fly to Stuttgart, Germany tomorrow. Keep them in your prayers. This will be an interesting time in the Mullen household. We look forward to seeing Gary and Nancy in late August. We'll keep you posted.

In the Good Old Summertime......

It sure is nice that the neighbor has a swimming pool. I'm his Cabana Boy and keep it shipshape. Sorry Annette's not here to enjoy it today. The temperature is 95 degrees and the pool is 85 degrees. It's just enough difference to feel nice and cool. Although this picture was taken last year, it looks the same this year. And the water feels just as good. We have been having a Junior Golf Camp this week. Al the grandparents have their grandkids for the week and they all have a blast. We have 43 this year. They will play a Tournament tomorrow and have lunch afterwards. I have been working the shop so the pro could teach. After tomorrow, I'm taking a few days off. Cindy is moving to Wenatchee on Monday. Annette is in Kent helping her get her stuff together. It is supposed to be 106 on Monday. It will be a very hot move. I'll go over Tuesday after my Dr. appointment to make sure they are ok. Come on up, the pool is open to friends.

Here's looking at you . . . . kid!

Although this picture was taken in the winter, it was taken just a few miles from here. What a nice face to see on your morning walk. We are getting into fast shuttle mode. Kathleen flew into Wenatchee last night and Cindy is coming over tomorrow. We will go to Wenatchee on Friday and see what has to be accomplished to get the change over done. You know, like Larry the Cable Guy. "Get er done" We are going to a double 80th birthday on Saturday in Chewelah, WA. Two good friends celebrating on the same day even if it isn't the date for both. We will enjoy seeing Earl and Edna Packer and friends. Cindy and Annette will leave Monday to start the packing job for Wenatchee. If everything works as it should the move will take place Monday the 27th. Kathleen is leaving for the Cape on the 22nd I think. We'll know more Friday. Keep all in your prayers, as this will be trying time for all concerned. Left click on the picture and see what a really cute guy this is.

Time flies when you have nothing to do.

I'm still waiting for a call from the Doctor saying that my claim is open and I can meet with a surgeon and get the shoulder process going. I do have an appointment with a surgeon for my knee on July 30th. If the claim isn't done by then, I think I will talk to him about doing both at once. That ought to be good. Cindy is packing her wares getting ready to move to Wenatchee. Kathleen flys in today to Wenatchee to start packing for Germany. We'll see her near the end of the week or sooner if she nees help. Annette will go home with Cindy on Monday or Tuesday and help pack for the move. We have the use of a panel truck from our neighbor here. It's in Seattle and they will pick it up and the move will be on the 27th. The only good thing about my condition, is that I can't be of any use going up and down three flights of steps. I can help on level ground in Wenatchee. Cindy will start her new business offically on the 1st of August. She will be recruiting medical staff. The group she will be involved with has coverage all over the U. S. We are hoping this will be a good fit for her skills. Keep her in your prayers.

Sightings from Old Cape Cod

I guess that this is as close as we will get for a while. Kathleen called last week and said it had rained almost everyday since they had been on the Cape. It looks like the Fourth was nice weather for them as it was for us. I wonder if there is a beach like that in Stuttgart? Sounds like Jim is working on the house between showers. Cindy is coming over today and will be here a couple days. She will be back on the 17th to take a walk through with Kathleen. She will move to Wenatchee the last week of July. It will be nice to have her closer. She will also be starting a new business of recruitment from her home. We hope she will be successful. Kathleen will spend next week packing for Germany. We'll get to see her then, but not Z.

It was a Great 4th of July

This is getting to be a big local event on the Fourth of July. The Senior Center sponsors a classic car and golf cart parade each year. The parade is growing in stature and size. The picture on the left is taken by the side of our house. We have two large birch trees which produce some of the best shade on the parade route. It's full every year. You can see by the bag that the carts throw candy to the kids. All the carts are decorated and judged at the Senior Center. We had friends for dinner and celebrated the holiday with ribs on the Traeger. It has been very hot the last few days and yesterday we hit 101. We are supposed to cool down this week somewhat.

What happens next????

What about an old relic among the new guys on the block? I thought it was very interesting that they would build an old windmill to show the differences in that have come about over the years. I went to the surgeon's office to fill out the paper work and was told since it happened on the job, I would need to go L&I. So, I guess that another month will go by before any decisions will be made. I guess truthfullness is not always the best policy. Annette is starting to look for fares to Stuttgart. It looks like about $600 to $700 round trip. Depends on carrier and time of the year. We will probably go over, just don't know when. I would enjoy Octoberfest. You know me and the brew. None of the light stuff for me. Looks like we are going to have a warm 4th. They are projecting near 100.
